Setting up your files for Spot UV Business Card Printing
We require a separate mask file for each side of the card that the Spot UV Gloss will be applied. This mask file should be black (0%C, 0%M, 0%Y, 100%K) and white (0%C, 0%M, 0%Y, 0%K). The black areas indicate where you would like the gloss to be applied while the white areas will remain non-coated. Standard Spot UV vs Silk Laminated Spot UV
We offer two different types of Spot UV business cards, standard and silk laminated. Our standard Spot UV cards are non-coated except for the areas that the silk lamination is applied. The non-coated areas have a matte (non gloss) appearance. Our silk laminated Spot UV cards are coated with a layer of silk lamination before the gloss is applied. The silk lamination adds a layer of protection to help protect your card from wear and tear such as smudging, ink chipping at the edges, or damage from splashes water on the surface of the card. Silk lamianted cards are also much more difficult to rip.
